How to Make Music Videos
Step-by-step guides for making visualizer videos, lyric videos, and more — whether you're a musician, indie artist, or just getting started.
Getting Started
From audio to video in 5 steps
Import Your Audio
Click the upload area or drag-and-drop any audio file. Supported formats: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A. The file stays on your device — nothing is uploaded to any server.
Choose a Visualizer Style
Select from 10+ visualizer types in the properties panel. Each responds differently to your audio's frequency spectrum.
Customize Colors & Effects
Adjust spectrum colors, glow, particles, and shake effects. Use Color Presets to generate palettes instantly.
Add Text & Overlays
Add artist name, song title, or captions with full typography controls — font, size, color, position, and animations.
Export as Video
Click Export, choose resolution (720p/1080p) and frame rate (30/60fps). Video renders locally via WebCodecs and saves to your device.

Timeline & Layers
Multi-track editing
The timeline supports multiple tracks. Each track can hold audio, video, image, text, visualizer, or effect clips.
- Drag clips to reposition them on the timeline.
- Drag clip edges to trim start/end points.
- Press S to split a clip at the playhead position.
- Tracks at the top render on top (higher z-index).
- Mute or lock tracks using the track controls.
Exporting
Render and download your video
Muvize uses the browser's native WebCodecs API to encode video locally. No server processing — your files never leave your device. GPU shader effects (glitch, VHS, rainy, Old TV, interlaced) are rendered in real-time during export.
